Studio Z, a Design+Build firm specializing in high-end residential and commercial building is looking for a reliable and detail-oriented individual to fill our full-time Carpenter's Apprentice position.
This position is for the individual with moderate construction experience and the passion and desire to develop and grow within the industry. An individual in this position will have the opportunity to learn the basics while getting a first-hand experience on project sites.
RESPONSIBILITIES as follows, but not limited to
- On-site support (Assisting w/demolition, rough framing, insulation, waterproofing, drywall, trim work, painting, window/door installations, fixture installations, etc.)
- On-site material/tool management
- Site maintenance (Keeping the site clear of trash/debris, unnecessary tools/materials)
- Truck maintenance (Regular inspections of gas tank, oil, tire pressure, warning lights on dash, keep interior clean, keep exterior clean, etc.)
- Adhere to all safety requirements particular to equipment, including Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 1-2 years in the construction industry
- Must have experience with residential projects
- Capable of operating power tools
- Lift a minimum of 80lbs
- Work well individually as well as in a team dynamic
- Ability to adapt to constant change in a fast-paced industry
- Must be detail oriented
- Must posess very strong communication skills
- Must have a valid CA drivers license and capable of driving pick-up truck
PREFERRED SKILLS
- Familiar with plumbing and electrical to a certain degree
- Interested in learning different trades
- Capable of reading plans to a certain degree
- Nailing schedules, shear walls, etc.
- Spanish fluent
