Purpose
Electronics Value Recovery (EVR) is a leading R2v3-certified, ISO 9001/14001/45001-certified IT Asset Disposition (ITAD) and Electronics Reuse and Recycling company based in Baltimore, Maryland. EVR specializes in secure data destruction, IT asset disposition, electronics recycling, and value recovery from end-of-life IT assets. We help organizations responsibly manage and monetize retired technology through compliant, transparent, and environmentally responsible processes.
The Receive/Sort Technician supports EVR’s inbound material flow by receiving, identifying, labeling, tracking, and sorting commercial electronic devices and related materials. The technician uses company software, RF scanning tools, and established warehouse guidelines to maintain accurate asset records, route material appropriately, and maximize reuse and recovery value. This role also supports general warehouse operations while maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work area.

Role and Responsibilities
Receiving and Material Tracking
- Assist with receiving inbound goods and execute established receiving processes.
- Identify common types of commercial electronic devices and related materials.
- Ensure inbound material is labeled appropriately to support accurate tracking.
- Track inbound and outbound material using company inventory and asset-management software.
- Use RF scanners and accurately enter required information into inventory systems.
Sorting and Value Recovery
- Sort received material according to established guidelines and warehouse nomenclature.
- Evaluate and route products to help maximize reuse and resale value.
- Use company software to complete applicable asset-management steps for commercial electronic devices.
- Learn and apply warehouse location and nomenclature standards to support accurate material movement.
Warehouse and Team Support
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation and warehouse area.
- Communicate with colleagues to support team goals and consistent workflow.
- Provide assistance with operational tasks and duties as needed.
- Operate a forklift when trained, authorized, and assigned.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Basic reading, writing, and math aptitude.
- Forklift experience preferred; must be able to complete required company authorization and training.
- Comfort using hand tools and power tools safely.
- Ability to lift and handle electronics weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Basic computer and mechanical skills.
- Ability to read, analyze, and follow technical procedures and work instructions.
- Good communication skills and willingness to ask for assistance when instructions are unclear.
- Experience in refurbishment, warehouse operations, or e-waste is helpful but not required.
- Working knowledge of Google Workspace and Windows-based computer systems preferred.
Physical Demands/Work Environment

- Work is performed primarily in a warehouse and production environment with moderate to elevated noise levels.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive material-handling tasks throughout the workday.
- Ability to lift and move electronics and materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Regular use of computers, RF scanners, pallet-handling equipment, and approved hand or power tools.
- Required personal protective equipment and all EVR safety procedures must be followed.
