Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic Home Based Services Clinical Supervisor to lead and oversee clinical teams delivering vital mental health and behavioral services within the community. This role offers an exciting opportunity to supervise clinical staff, coordinate individualized treatment plans, and ensure the highest quality of care for children and families. Duties
- Manage and supervise all assigned employees (e.g., schedule and assign tasks; interview job applicants; recommend the hiring of job applicants; recommend discipline; evaluate performance; attend or participate in meetings in which policy questions are reviewed or discussed; develop and implement policy; recommend policy changes; has access to financial data used in monitoring department revenue/income, etc.).
2. Assist Director of Clinical Services in the implementation and monitoring of all services and support for children, youth, and families in the HBS program.
3. Assist Director of Clinical Services in providing direction and oversight of all program functions. This includes, but is not limited to:
a. referral, intake, and placement processes.
b. tracking and monitoring of HBS client rosters, dashboard and/or database.
c. staff caseload assignments.
d. submission of timely and accurate clinical documentation.
e. review and sign off on clinical documentation.
f. outreach and recruitment.
g. high-quality multi-disciplinary team meetings and collaboration.
h. performance management for staff (i.e., Clinicians and QMHS), including monitoring of productivity levels.
i. monitoring of program licensure and certification audits; rules compliance and violations; and corrective action plans.
4. Provide direct clinical services to a small client caseload (5-10 cases), with an adjusted productivity requirement, unless it is determined, in consultation with the Clinical Director that expanded duties preclude doing so.
5. Assist Director of Clinical Services in the hiring and evaluating of clinical staff (clinicians), utilizing consistent hiring protocols, supervision and evaluation tools and methods. Work in conjunction with the training department to ensure staff receive appropriate orientation and on-going training.
6. Provide clinical supervision to all employees in the HBS program (clinicians and QMHS).
7. Provide individual supervision to intern(s).
8. Assist Clinical Director in implementation of consistent on-call protocol for HBS program, including On-Call Clinician duties, handbook, rotation, and payment.
9. Collaborate with program supervisors/managers/directors of other program areas to assure appropriate provision of services and support for youth and families.
10. Ensure proper implementation of agency policy and procedures.
11. Ensure that clinical staff provide services in compliance with ODMH and ODJFS rules and regulations, COA standards, UMCF protocols, procedures and policies, and professional best practice.
12. Develop and implement activities that will increase billable opportunities.
13. Ensure clinical staff meet productivity requirements and submit timely and accurate clinical paperwork for Medicaid billing.
14. Stay current with literature and practice issues related to child welfare practice, juvenile justice, and children’s mental health services.
15. Maintain relationships with other agencies, regulatory bodies, and professional organizations related to programming for children and families. Represent agency at various professional conferences and meetings.
16. Per request and direction of the Director of Clinical Services, actively participates in the agency outreach efforts, including speaking engagements and networking opportunities to expand OPS and represent the agency in positive ways to referral sources and the community.
17. Active participant in internal agency clinical training for licensed staff.
18. Participate in internal meetings as assigned (i.e. Leadership, Continuum of Care, Risk Management, HBS team meetings, etc).
19. Participate in external meetings as assigned (i.e. FCCS Provider Meetings, OACCA Meetings, ODJFS Quarterly Update Meetings, etc).
20. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications An example of acceptable qualifications (at least one of the following):
Graduate degree in the human services field. Must be licensed as an independent practitioner (LISW, LPCC) with supervisory designated preferred (LISW-S, LPCC-S) in the State of Ohio. Must have three (3) years of experience, two (2) years post graduate experience working with families and children in a community-based setting and one year in an administrative/supervisory capacity. Experience in implementing community-based mental health services are preferred. Must have experience in implementing and/or monitoring quality assurance activities and supervising staff. Preference given to those who also have experience providing counseling. Must be able to meet the public and communicate effectively with diverse groups.
Or any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
