Responsibilities
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using proper manual handling techniques such as Hoyer lifts and patient transfer methods
- Monitor and document vital signs, health status, and behavioral changes to ensure timely communication with healthcare professionals
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary restrictions and preferences while maintaining proper food safety standards
- Support medication administration following HIPAA guidelines and care plans to ensure accurate timing and dosage
- Conduct patient observation to identify potential health concerns or safety hazards promptly
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and organizing personal spaces
- Provide transportation assistance for medical appointments or community outings, ensuring client safety at all times
- Support clients with specialized needs including Alzheimer's care, dementia care, memory care, autism spectrum disorder support, developmental disabilities assistance, and neurodevelopmental disorders management
Qualifications
- Proven experience working as a caregiver in home health, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or group homes with a focus on geriatrics or developmental disabilities
- Knowledge of patient monitoring techniques and ability to recognize signs of medical emergencies or behavioral issues
- Familiarity with care plans, medication administration protocols, and HIPAA regulations for patient privacy protection
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications in hospice care or dementia care are advantageous
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform manual handling tasks such as patient transfers using Hoyer lifts or other assistive devices
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, healthcare teams, and social workers
- Experience working with individuals with autism or intellectual disabilities is highly desirable
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for client outings or appointments

Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
