Maintenance Technician
Job Description
We are currently seeking a Maintenance Technician to play a key role in performing operations pertaining to maintenance and repair of a wide variety of equipment.
Summary
The Maintenance Technician will help maintain all electrical functions of the facility including maintenance systems, as well as modification, improvement and repair projects.
Key Responsibilities:
General and Task Management
- Schedule both internal and external work maximizing planned downtime to reduce unplanned downtime.
- Perform root cause analysis and resolve problems.
- Identify business improvement opportunities within the organization.
- Provide technical expertise to the team.
- Manage contractors on site to ensure they meet legal and company requirements.
- Ensure operation is in accordance with any health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety of team members and contractors.
People Management
- Monitor the completion of tasks, ensure good performance, and record on maintenance systems.
Financial and Budget Control
- Maintain a maintenance program with plant equipment failure statistics to justify equipment improvements to increase plant reliability and reduce future maintenance costs.
- Prepare and develop estimates for projects to determine the best approach and provide justification for expenditures.
Relationship Management
- Interact with team members and cooperate with other functional areas to complete projects in a timely manner.
- Provide technical knowledge to facility personnel on troubleshooting failures and repairs, causes of equipment downtime, and solutions to the failures.
- Coordinate and communicate with other departments, customers, suppliers and other service providers.
- Work as part of the Maintenance team to share ideas and improve operation, recommending, supporting and implementing continuous improvement activities.
Skills and Attributes:
- Demonstrate excellent electrical trouble shooting skills by providing a logical approach to problem solving to identify and overcome complex problems.
- Good theoretical and applied understanding of mechanical and electrical theory, production line control, instrumentation and manufacturing processes.
- Proficient computer skills in MS Office and maintenance software applications.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with, lead, and influence team members at multiple levels of the organization.
- Able to read blueprints, specifications and schematics.
- Ability to function in a fast-paced, team environment.
- Knowledge in PLC’s, forging furnace/forming press, wood fired boilers, pneumatics, hydraulics, 3-phase electricity, welding, painting with electrostatics, UV coating, and the ability to read hydraulic prints and calipers is a plus.
Qualifications and Experience Levels:
- Experience working in a manufacturing and production environment.
- Minimum of two years’ progress experience in factory maintenance.
- Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic controller
Pay: $27.50 - $32.50 per hour
