Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Part-Time Day Caregiver to provide exceptional care and support to individuals in a community or home setting. Duties
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene.
- Monitor residents’ health status by observing vital signs and overall condition, reporting any concerns promptly.
- Support medication administration following HIPAA guidelines and care plans established by healthcare professionals.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary.
- Facilitate engaging activities that promote social interaction, cognitive stimulation, and emotional well-being.
- Ensure a clean, safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and maintaining hygiene standards.
- Assist with patient transfers using manual handling techniques such as Hoyer lifts and patient transfer methods.
- Provide transportation assistance for appointments or community outings, ensuring safety at all times.
- Document care activities accurately in compliance with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA and facility policies.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to implement personalized care plans for residents with dementia, Alzheimer's, or developmental disabilities.
Skills
- Proven experience working with individuals in group home settings or assisted living environments.
- Strong patient observation skills to monitor health changes and behavioral cues effectively.
- Knowledge of dementia care, memory care, Alzheimer’s care, and neurodevelopmental disorders support.
- Ability to perform patient monitoring including vital signs measurement and medication administration.
- Familiarity with care equipment such as Hoyer lifts and patient transfer devices.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental delays, including intellectual disabilities support.
- Competence in meal preparation, light cleaning, and personal transportation assistance.
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is required to ensure safety during emergencies.
- Excellent communication skills for client interaction and collaboration with healthcare teams.
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations to maintain confidentiality and privacy of client information.
