We are looking for an experienced, disciplined and innovative DOT Safety and Compliance Officer to join our company. The Safety and Compliance Officer will be responsible for facilitating compliance with occupational health and safety guidelines in the trucking industry. Your main goal will be to ensure drivers' compliance with safety regulations, maintain safe working environment, prevent accidents and injuries and help maintain the company's safety score at the highest level.
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Administers driver hiring, safety on-boarding and compliance process
- Prepares and manages driver qualification files
- Provides assistance and training to drivers
- Investigates accidents, incidents, and work-related injuries and determines fault
- Prepares and submits accident-related compliance forms and maintains filing procedures
- Reviews existing policies and procedures and implements improved ones, with the leadership support and in compliance with DOT policies and programs
- Conducts risk assessment and enforces prevention measures
- Researches, analyzes and reports safety trends and regulation changes
- Advises and guides employees and leadership on various safety-related topics
- Helps design and prepare training courses and webinars
EXPERIENCE
- 3-5 years of experience in transportation-related safety roles
- Knowledge of federal and state rules and regulations regarding transportation safety issues
- CDL highly preferred
- Spanish language required
- High school diploma or higher
- Familiarity with Google apps
- Great communication skills
- Consistent attendance and punctuality
