Job Summary
Join our dynamic team as a Commercial Driver's License A Truck Owner Operator and take charge of delivering freight efficiently and safely across diverse routes. This role offers the opportunity to operate a variety of commercial vehicles, including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, refrigerated trailers, tankers, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and more. As an owner operator, you’ll be responsible for managing your own schedule while adhering to all safety and regulatory standards set by FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation). Your expertise in logistics cargo handling, hazardous materials regulations, and route driving will ensure timely deliveries that meet our high standards for quality and safety. Duties
- Safely operate a variety of commercial vehicles including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, refrigerated trailers, tankers, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and other specialized equipment.
- Load and unload freight using manual handling techniques or equipment such as forklifts when required.
- Navigate routes efficiently using GPS navigation systems to ensure timely deliveries while complying with all FMCSA and DOT regulations.
- Transport hazardous materials or dangerous goods following strict hazardous materials regulations and safety protocols.
- Manage logistics cargo handling tasks such as securing loads on flatbeds or roll-off containers and verifying cargo documentation.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with safety standards.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, inspection reports, and incident documentation in accordance with FMCSA regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients to confirm delivery schedules and resolve any route or cargo issues promptly.
Experience
- Valid CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) Class A with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving including route driving with tractor-trailers or similar heavy-duty vehicles.
- Hands-on experience with manual transmission trucks preferred but not required; must be comfortable operating manual transmission vehicles if applicable.
- Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, hazardous materials regulations, and freight handling procedures.
- Knowledge of GPS navigation systems for route planning and real-time tracking.
- Experience in load & unload operations using manual handling equipment or forklifts; familiarity with logistics cargo handling processes.
- Understanding of FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) safety standards for commercial trucking.
- Ability to safely handle dangerous goods or hazardous materials following all safety protocols.
- Previous delivery driver experience demonstrating reliability in meeting deadlines across diverse routes.
