The Inn at Taughannock Falls is a premier wedding and event destination. The property also boasts a lakeview dining restaurant and a luxury boutique hotel. On weekends, the estate hosts multiple events and weddings, including in our large scale outdoor garden venue, called Enchantment.
We are seeking temporary event staff who would assist with setting up and breaking down our event venues and their furniture and décor. This would primarily be focused on weekends and would involve physical labor. There are also additional groundskeeping tasks available throughout the week and into the off-season for candidates looking for extra hours.
Responsibilities
- Handle and transport materials including chairs, tables, and equipment
- Follow instructions from supervisors to perform manual labor tasks, including reviewing and following floorplans
- Put up warning signs (e.g. signposts, cones) for vehicles and passersby
- Report issues with equipment or unsafe conditions
- Perform needed cleaning tasks, firepit and fireplace tending, or groundskeeping tasks.
Requirements:
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (standing for long periods of time, lifting heavy loads of up to 40 pounds etc.)
- Good hand-eye coordination
- Familiarity with power tools and machinery is a plus
- Communication and teamwork skills
- Commitment to safety rules
Pay/Hours:
This position is seasonal through October/November, and employees in good standing are asked to return during following years.
Hours vary, and can be business hours on weekdays and hours through midnight on weekends.
Pay begins at $20/hr - position is eligible for gratuity during events which puts the average hourly rate to $30/hr or more.
