Position Overview
Van Buren County Hospital is seeking Registered Nurses (RN), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN), and Certified Medical Assistants (CMA) to support provider-based outpatient clinic services. These roles support increased patient access by assisting with clinical workflows, patient preparation, and care coordination in a team-based clinic environment.
Applicants will be considered and hired into the appropriate role based on licensure, qualifications, and experience.
What You’ll Do
- Prepare patients for clinic visits, including vital signs, medication review, and documentation
- Assist providers with examinations, procedures, and patient care activities
- Deliver patient care and clinical support within the scope of your license or certification
- Support patient communication, care coordination, referrals, and follow-up
- Accurately document care and patient interactions in the electronic medical record
- Perform clinical tasks such as injections, specimen collection, and testing as allowed by role
- Maintain exam rooms, equipment, and supplies in a clean and ready state
- Collaborate with providers and clinic staff to ensure efficient patient flow
- Follow clinic policies, safety standards, and infection control practices
Qualifications
Required (based on role):
- Active RN or LPN license in Iowa or compact state OR
- Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential recognized in Iowa
- CPR Certification (Healthcare Provider level)
- Mandatory Reporter Certification (or willingness to obtain)
Preferred:
- Previous outpatient clinic or healthcare experience
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
Compensation (based on license and experience):
- CMA: $20.27 – $28.00 per hour
- LPN: $23.38 – $35.00 per hour
- RN: $28.71 – $39.00 per hour
