Chillingham's Steak is seeking a Dishwasher
Job Overview:
We are looking for a reliable, hard-working Dishwasher to join our back-of-house team. As a dishwasher, you are the backbone of our kitchen operations. You will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of all dishes, glassware, cookware, and kitchen utensils, ensuring the line cooks and service staff have exactly what they need to keep the restaurant running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities:
Sanitation & Washing: Operate the commercial dishwashing machine and manually wash large pots, pans, and delicate glassware according to food safety standards.
Organization & Sorting: Correctly sort and scrape soiled dishes before washing, and carefully stack and return clean items to their proper storage locations in the kitchen and bar areas.
Kitchen Maintenance: Empty kitchen trash cans, recycling, and linen bags into designated dumpsters throughout the shift.
Support Tasks: Assist with basic kitchen prep work (e.g., peeling vegetables) during slower periods, and help unpack and organize food and beverage deliveries.
Safety & Cleanliness: Maintain a clean, dry, and safe dish pit area by sweeping and mopping floors regularly to prevent slips and falls.
Requirements & Qualifications:
Experience: No prior experience required; we are fully prepared to train anyone with a great attitude and a strong work ethic. (Prior restaurant experience is a plus!)
Physical Stamina: Ability to stand and move for long periods (up to 8 hours) and comfortably lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Availability: Flexibility to work a variable schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays depending on restaurant needs.
Teamwork: A positive, reliable attitude and the ability to communicate well with both kitchen and front-of-house staff in a fast-paced environment.
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
