Lead Host — The Latin King
The Latin King is looking for a dependable, polished, and outgoing Lead Host to help lead the front door and create a warm first impression for every guest.
As one of Des Moines’ established dining destinations, The Latin King takes pride in hospitality, professionalism, and creating a guest experience that feels welcoming from the moment people walk in. The Lead Host plays a key role in setting that tone.
Responsibilities
- Greet every guest with warmth, confidence, and professionalism
- Manage the host stand, waitlist, reservations, and guest flow
- Seat guests according to server rotation, table availability, and service needs
- Communicate clearly with servers, bartenders, bussers, and managers
- Help keep the front entrance, host stand, and waiting area clean and organized
- Assist with guest questions, special requests, and seating concerns
- Help train and support other hosts
- Stay calm and organized during busy dinner rushes
- Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude
- Lead by example with punctuality, teamwork, and guest-first service
Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required
- Prior restaurant, hospitality, or customer service experience preferred
- Host, server, or front-of-house leadership experience is a plus
- Must be mature, dependable, and comfortable speaking with guests
- Strong communication and organization skills
- Ability to stay composed in a fast-paced restaurant environment
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods
- Evening and weekend availability required
- Must work well with managers and the full front-of-house team

We are looking for someone who can communicate clearly, support the team, handle busy moments with maturity, and make guests feel welcome from the moment they arrive.
Schedule
Evening and weekend availability is required. Part-time or full-time hours may be available depending on experience, availability, and business needs.
Pay: From $15.00 per hour
