The Chiller Service Technician plays a critical role in maintaining and servicing commercial HVAC equipment. This position involves diagnosing system issues, performing repairs, conducting preventative maintenance, and ensuring customer equipment operates efficiently and reliably. Success in this role requires advanced troubleshooting abilities, sound decision-making skills, and professional customer interaction.

Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial and industrial HVAC equipment, including:

Air-cooled chiller systems

Water-cooled chiller systems

Cooling towers and associated components
-
Boiler systems
-
Pumping equipment
-
Air handlers and ventilation systems
-
Split-system equipment and rooftop package units
-
Assess equipment performance and recommend repair or replacement options when appropriate

Research OEM-approved replacement parts and service procedures
-
Provide customers with clear explanations of system conditions, repair recommendations, and available solutions

Participate in the company's on-call emergency response rotation
-
Maintain company-issued vehicles, tools, and inventory in a clean and organized condition

Complete detailed electronic service documentation, including:

Labor and time reporting
-
Service diagnostics and repair notes
-
Equipment information and history
-
Customer authorizations and approvals
-
Coordinate regularly with dispatch personnel, service support staff, and management teams
-
Utilize company software, tablets, and mobile technology for work order management, documentation, and reporting
Direct Supervisor: Service Manager

3 to 5 years of commercial chiller service experience with verifiable professional references
-
Strong understanding of commercial and industrial HVAC equipment, controls, and diagnostic processes

Ability to evaluate equipment life expectancy and determine cost-effective repair versus replacement solutions

Excellent customer relations and communication skills
-
Self-motivated with the ability to lead and make decisions in the field when necessary

Universal EPA Certification is required

Ability to travel to customer job sites as assigned

Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude while representing the company

Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage service assignments with minimal supervision

Strong written communication skills with the ability to produce accurate service documentation
