Position Summary
The Bilingual Special Education Teacher provides specially designed instruction and case management services for students with disabilities while also helping strengthen communication and trust with Spanish-speaking students and families.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Deliver specialized instruction aligned to academic, behavioral, communication, and social-emotional goals
- Collaborate with general education teachers, service providers, and school leaders
- Communicate effectively with English- and Spanish-speaking families regarding student progress, meetings, and supports
- Support inclusive classroom practices, accommodations, and behavior interventions
- Maintain accurate compliance documentation and progress monitoring data
- Participate in IEP meetings, evaluations, and multidisciplinary team meetings
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field
- Valid teaching license in Special Education (or eligibility to obtain licensure)
- Ability to communicate professionally in both English and Spanish
Preferred:
- Experience serving multilingual learners
- Experience in inclusive/co-teaching environments
- Knowledge of culturally responsive instructional practices
- Experience working in urban or diverse school communities
Pay: From $52,580.00 per year
