Location: Telluride Regional Airport, Hangar 30
Dates Required: September 23 – 27, 2026 (Includes load-in, event days, and strike)
Job Overview
The Venue Manager for Hangar 30 is the on-site "quarterback" responsible for the seamless execution of all operations at the airport venue. This role requires a highly organized, authoritative, yet welcoming leader who can manage vendor load-in, oversee infrastructure placement, and coordinate staff and volunteers to ensure an exceptional guest and sponsor experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Vendor & Sponsor Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for arriving vendors. Meet them upon arrival, direct them to their designated footprints, and assist with load-in logistics.
- Site & Infrastructure Oversight: Ensure all physical assets—including tents, tables, chairs, event flags, and signage—are set up according to the site plan.
- Vendor Coordination & Facilities: Monitor and manage essential site facilities, ensuring portable restrooms (porta-potties) are properly placed, serviced, clean, and stocked throughout the event.
- Attendee Arrival & Ticket Office Readiness: Assist with the setup of the main ticket office/check-in area. Ensure all attendee items (credentials, maps, lanyards, etc.) are organized and that all event merchandise delivered for assigned staff to display before doors open.
- Team Leadership: Direct on-site volunteers and event staff, assigning tasks for setup, merchandise booth operations, and teardown.
- Airport Liaison: Maintain strict adherence to Telluride Regional Airport rules and safety protocols, ensuring event operations do not infringe on active airport operations.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in event production, venue management, or site coordination.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage volunteers and direct vendors firmly but politely.
- High physical stamina (the role requires being on your feet, moving across the venue, and light lifting/adjusting of assets like flags or tables).
- Ability to problem-solve calmly under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
