Job Summary
The Early Head Start Teacher is responsible for providing a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for children from birth to age three. The teacher plans and implements engaging activities that support each child's cognitive, physical, social, emotional, and language development while fostering positive relationships with children and their families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide attentive, responsive, and nurturing care that meets the individual needs of infants and toddlers.
- Plan and implement age-appropriate curriculum and activities that promote learning through play and exploration.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment that complies with all licensing and health and safety regulations.
- Observe, assess, and document each child's growth and developmental progress.
- Build positive relationships with families through regular communication regarding their child's development and daily activities.
- Support children's social-emotional development by modeling positive behavior and encouraging independence.
- Assist with feeding, diapering, toileting, napping, and other daily care routines while maintaining children's dignity and comfort.
- Collaborate with teaching staff and administrators to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and required trainings.
- Ensure compliance with all program policies, state licensing requirements, and applicable regulations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; CDA, associate's, or bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred.
- Experience working with infants and toddlers in a licensed early childhood setting preferred.
- Knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practices.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Ability to pass all required background clearances and fingerprinting.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and actively engage with young children throughout the day.

Pay: $15.50 - $18.00 per hour
