Title: Operations & Maintenance Technician I
Reports to: Lead O&M Technician
Job Summary
This position is responsible for performing maintenance and routine operational tasks at a renewable energy facility, within the appropriate scope of practice and in accordance with Cloverdale Renewables company policies and standards. The Operations Technician is expected to follow personal and process safety protocols, support a safety-focused work environment, and work efficiently and collaboratively with both the Cloverdale Renewables team and external maintenance contractors. Actual responsibilities may include some or all of the duties described below.

- Documentation: Consistently documents all pertinent information, both customer and employment related, accurately and concisely, in accordance with company guidelines.
- Safety: Consistently adheres to all Cloverdale Renewables safety policies and procedures. Reports any near-miss, first aid, or personal injuries to supervisor timely and appropriately.
- Responsible Use of Tools: Company vehicles/ tools are always presentable and well-organized. Clean driving record and competence.
- Continuing Education: Shows initiative and desire to advance in work life by developing skills through both on-the-job training and formal training.
- Team Responsibilities: Works to ensure success of company and of team members. Accountable and takes ownership of opportunities, concerns, breakdowns, and results. Works collaboratively while evoking and producing trust. Adheres to team standards and contributes to the team mood for success.
Essential Job Functions:
- Control facility operations in accordance with safe operating limits, including following routine, start-up, shutdown, and emergency procedures
- Troubleshoot operational problems by collecting data, analyzing, and interpreting results, and making decisions on appropriate process changes to maintain product quality and equipment reliability
- Data entry of site operating performance, through logs, reports and other materials as needed
- Consistent communication with Lead O&M Tech. regarding site status and operation.
- Communication with O&M manager regarding site status and operation as needed.
- General project oversight and management
- Cleaning separator screens, change oil and filters on blowers, pumps, and compressors
- Maintain site cleanliness and appearance
- Monitor and record instruments
- Adheres to assigned work schedule (attendance and punctuality)
- Responds to phone messages, emails, and text messages in timely manner
- Flexibility and willingness to work all shifts, with periods of On-Call status
- Comply with all applicable standards, policies, or procedures, maintaining a clean work area.
- Seeks assistance as needed and asks questions in a timely manner to appropriate staff.
- Additional duties as assigned.
- Demonstrates a “can-do” attitude, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Strong attention to detail, taking pride in producing high-quality results.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Mechanical ability, prior experience with electrical and rotating equipment preferred
- Must be able to physically lift or maneuver up to 100 lbs.
- Ability to follow instructions with appropriate level of self-direction
- Ability to interact with customers, vendors and employees on a positive level
- Responsive to inter-company personnel
- Ability to work in all types of weather and dirty environments
Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Certifications as appropriate
- Current Driver’s License and acceptable driving record
- Dairy farm background or experience a plus
- Bilingual in Spanish a plus
Random Drug Testing Requirements:
All Cloverdale Renewables employees are expected to adhere to the company’s drug and alcohol policy. Cloverdale Renewables will cover the cost of required testing for employees; pre-employment, random, for cause and post-accident testing may be administered by others contracted by Cloverdale Renewables.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to: climb ladders and stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl, perform over-head work. Employee is regularly required to: stand; walk and sit for long periods of time; use hand to finger coordination, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust and focus.
