Overview
Sagebrush Healthcare is seeking a detail oriented and organized Benefits & Eligibility Analyst to join our growing healthcare team. In this role, you will support our Rheumatology, Neurology, and Infectious Disease clinics by ensuring patients are financially cleared prior to their appointments. You will verify insurance eligibility, obtain required referrals and Continuation of Care (COC) authorizations, document patient financial responsibility, and collaborate with multiple departments to ensure a seamless patient experience.

What You'll Do
- Review provider/injection/infusion schedules 1–2 weeks in advance to complete chart preparation.
- Verify active primary and secondary insurance coverage.
- Confirm patient benefits and eligibility.
- Verify and document copays, deductibles, coinsurance, and out-of-pocket maximums.
- Obtain required referrals and Continuation of Care (COC) authorizations.
- Document all insurance information accurately in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
- Communicate insurance or eligibility issues to the appropriate departments to prevent delays in patient care.
- Work closely with the Front Office, Prior Authorization, Billing, and Clinical Operations teams.
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and protect patient confidentiality.
- Ensure patients are financially cleared prior to their appointments.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in medical insurance verification, benefits, referrals, or healthcare administration preferred.
- Experience in a specialty medical practice is preferred.
- Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance plans, HMO/PPO, and VA/TriWest insurance.
- Familiarity with referrals, Continuation of Care (COC), prior authorizations, and patient financial responsibility.
- Experience using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
