Job Summary
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Care Staff to provide exceptional support and assistance to individuals with diverse needs. Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary
- Monitor and record vital signs like blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure health stability
- Administer medications following prescribed protocols and document all medication activities accurately in Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems
- Provide specialized care for residents with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, employing memory care techniques and behavior management strategies
- Support residents during meal preparation, feeding, and hydration to promote proper nutrition and hydration habits
- Engage residents in social activities and therapeutic programs to foster mental stimulation and emotional well-being
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties such as cleaning resident areas and ensuring infection control standards are met
Experience
- Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care environments is highly preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's care, and memory care best practices
- Experience with medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and basic first aid procedures
- Familiarity with EMR systems for documentation purposes
- Proven ability to work effectively with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities requiring personal support
- Previous roles involving caregiving, group home work, or long-term care settings are advantageous
- Valid driver’s license and driving experience are a plus for community-based support roles
