About the role:
We’re hiring a hands-on technician to support daily additive manufacturing operations in our Temple, TX lab. This role focuses on starting print jobs, maintaining equipment, and completing post-processing so parts meet a high quality standard.
This is a great fit for someone who enjoys working with their hands, follows procedures closely, and takes pride in doing things the right way.
Schedule (Weekend Only):
- Saturday and Sunday
- 7:30 AM – ~6:00 PM (10–12 hour shifts)
- ~20–24 hours per week
Reliable, on-time arrival for a 7:30 AM start is required and not flexible.
What you’ll do:
- Start and monitor print jobs on additive systems including HP MJF, One Click Metal (DMLS), and FDM equipment (BigRep, Bambu, etc.)
- Safely remove parts from builds and handle materials according to established procedures
- Post-process parts (depowdering/cleaning, support removal, surface finishing, basic deburr/sanding as trained)
- Perform basic quality checks (visual inspection, simple measurements with calipers, follow work instructions)
- Label, document, and stage parts for delivery/shipping
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized lab environment
- Follow safety procedures and use PPE as required
- Complete scheduled preventive maintenance tasks on equipment
What we’re looking for (must-have):
- High school diploma or GED (or currently enrolled—see Student section below)
- Comfortable with hands-on work and using basic hand tools
- Strong reliability: shows up on time, follows instructions, and communicates clearly
- High quality standards: detail-oriented, notices defects, and takes ownership of their work
- Able to stay focused and maintain quality during repetitive, process-driven tasks
- Able to reliably arrive on time for a 7:30 AM shift start
- Must be a U.S. Person as defined by ITAR (able to access export-controlled items/data if required)
Nice to have (not required):
- Machining experience (manual/CNC exposure, deburr/finishing, shop tools, metal fabrication)
- Additive manufacturing / 3D printing experience
- Factory/assembly/production experience working with standardized processes and quality checks
Students Welcome (Part-Time):
We may consider high school students for this weekend part-time role if you are currently enrolled in a hands-on technical pathway (CTE/trades, robotics, engineering, manufacturing) or taking hands-on electives (machining, CAD, robotics, electronics, welding, etc.).
You must be dependable, safety-minded, and able to follow detailed work instructions.
Growth Opportunity:
High-performing team members may have the opportunity to transition into a full-time role and take on additional responsibilities over time (additional machines, quality checks, or production ownership).
Work environment / physical requirements:
- Standing and walking for most of the shift
- Lifting up to ~50 lbs as needed
- Industrial lab/manufacturing environment; PPE required in some areas
Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
