Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Referee to officiate basketball games for various age groups, ensuring fair play and adherence to the rules of the game. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and a passion for sports, particularly basketball. This role is essential in fostering a positive environment for players while managing any conflicts that may arise during games.
Duties
- Officiate basketball games, ensuring all rules and regulations are followed.
- Communicate effectively with players, coaches, and spectators to maintain order and respect during games.
- Manage conflicts on the court by applying conflict management techniques to resolve disputes fairly and promptly.
- Provide guidance and support to young athletes, promoting sportsmanship and teamwork.
- Collaborate with coaches and other referees to ensure a smooth flow of the game.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of basketball rules and stay updated on any changes or modifications.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in officiating basketball games is preferred but not required.
- Strong communication skills to effectively convey decisions and instructions.
- Ability to manage conflicts calmly and professionally.
- Experience working with children in a sports coaching or mentoring capacity is a plus.
- A passion for basketball and understanding of the game’s dynamics.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.

- Do you have your own Ref shirt ?
- Our sports leagues includes developmental skill sets from 1st - 6th grade. Are you okay with being a Ref for these type of Games which is a slower place from AAU.
