The EMS Support Coordinator is responsible for managing the Regional Transport Program, Event Medical Standby operations, and Clinical Education initiatives for the EMS department. This position ensures the seamless integration of services, proper documentation, compliance with billing procedures, and effective communication with stakeholders. The coordinator will also maintain clinical proficiency by engaging in patient transport duties and supporting other EMS operations as directed by the EMS Director and/or EMS Medical Director.

Establish and maintain transport agreements and contracts with hospitals, ambulance agencies, and municipalities within the service area.

Monitor and report performance metrics daily, monthly, quarterly, and annually.

Ensure the completion and inclusion of all required documentation in patient records.

Coordinate with Ambulance Medical Billing for accurate billing, timely followups on outstanding balances, and providing transportation quotes as requested.

Allocate appropriate resources for various types of transport, ensuring optimal service delivery.

Maintain a 30% productivity level in the clinical role of transporting patients.

Manage contracts and agreements for municipal, community, and contractual standby events.

Coordinate scheduling, staffing, and resource allocation for events such as drag races at North Florida Motorplex and Calhoun County School District sporting events.

Conduct preevent briefings and ensure thorough documentation to support accurate billing.

Use the Fleet Management System to track event times, vehicle usage, and other relevant metrics for operational efficiency.

Work with Ambulance Medical Billing to ensure accurate and timely billing and payment collection for standby services.

Oversee EMS department continuing education, certification, and recertification programs.

Coordinate mandatory and voluntary courses, such as ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications.

Collaborate with the EMS Director and EMS Medical Director to facilitate protocol reviews and updates.

Organize and execute quarterly and annual clinical education and skills evaluation events.

Provide clinical education and training to all CalhounLiberty Hospital departments and colleagues as needed, in coordination with CalhounLiberty Hospital leadership.

Provide input for protocol improvements and updates as needed.

Participate in the development, review, and enforcement of EMS department policies and procedures.

Assist in onboarding and orientation of new EMS personnel.

Support fleet management by ensuring that vehicles are maintained and meet operational readiness standards

Conduct community outreach efforts to enhance public awareness of EMS services, including participation in public events, safety education initiatives, and preparedness drills.

Provide backup coverage for EMS operations, including patient transport and emergency response, as needed.

Support budget preparation and assist in tracking program costs, ensuring financial accountability within the department.

Collaborate with the EMS Director on special projects or department initiatives that align with organizational goals.

Current Florida Paramedic License; Critical Care Paramedic certification preferred

Current BLS/ACLS/PALS required; instructor level certifications preferred

Current EVOC

Minimum of 5 years of experience in EMS ground services

Minimum of 1 year of critical care transport experience

Minimum of 1 year of experience in clinical healthcare education

Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

Familiarity with the Fleet Management System or similar technology

Strong customer service skills with the ability to effectively address patient, client, and stakeholder needs

Excellent networking skills to build and maintain professional relationships with hospitals, ambulance services, and municipal agencies

Functional working knowledge of quality assurance and improvement systems, prehospital documentation systems, quality and compliance procedures, and state and federal laws and regulations for ground ambulance services
