Overview
The role of the Sewing Operator will operate and tend sewing machines to perform sewing operations. This includes joining and reinforcing of materials. Sewing machine operators handle work on a large scale as they are required to operate and tend to industrial machineries.
Duties
· Set and adjust machine controls and test for proper functionality before completing sewing projects.
· Follow order guidelines to complete sewing projects
· Sew missing stiches/replacement parts according to repair instructions
· Ensure finished product meets design, merchandising and quality standards
· Reload machines with products
· Sort, fold and stack materials
· Meet production standards for completion of all assignments
· Address any problems to ensure quality control including preventative maintenance per instructions and guidelines; reports defective materials and equipment
· Utilize personal protective equipment and continuously adheres to safety guidelines
· Participate in cross training opportunities to maximize operation effectiveness
Qualifications
· Basic math skills
· Ability to read instructions, understand and meet all guidelines
· Good communication skills
