Position Summary
The Maintenance Supervisor is a hands-on role responsible for both performing and overseeing maintenance, repair, and safety compliance across the organization's 3 main clinic locations and 7 satellite locations. This individual directly supervises one Maintenance Technician and personally handles a significant share of routine and reactive maintenance work — especially at satellite sites where no on-site maintenance staff are stationed. This is not a desk-based management role; the Supervisor is expected to be the primary "boots on the ground" for repairs, with the Technician supporting larger sites or split coverage.
A company vehicle is provided for regular travel between locations; mileage is reimbursed for any occasional personal vehicle use.
Key Responsibilities
Hands-On Maintenance (primary function)
-
Personally perform routine and emergency repairs (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, general building/equipment issues) across all 10 locations
-
Serve as first responder for satellite-site issues, since these locations don't have dedicated on-site maintenance staff
-
Perform preventive maintenance tasks directly (filter changes, equipment checks, minor repairs) rather than solely assigning them out
-
Handle basic rehab/clinical equipment maintenance issues (non-medical-device mechanical/electrical issues) as needed
-
Directly supervise and schedule the Maintenance Technician, assigning coverage across main and satellite sites based on patient care hours
-
Train and mentor the Technician on procedures, safety protocols, and documentation
-
Step in personally when the Technician is unavailable, out, or when satellite coverage requires a second set of hands
-
Coordinate outside contractors (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, elevator, fire/life safety) for jobs beyond internal team capacity
-
Maintain compliance documentation (inspections, certifications, life safety drills) across all sites
-
Track and report safety incidents, equipment failures, and facility issues to leadership
-
Maintain a preventive maintenance schedule/log across all 10 sites
-
Track parts/supply inventory
-
Prepare status reports for leadership on facility conditions
-
High school diploma or equivalent; trade certification (HVAC, electrical, plumbing) strongly preferred given the hands-on nature of the role
-
3–5+ years of direct, hands-on facilities maintenance experience (not purely supervisory)
-
At least 1 year in a lead/supervisory capacity
-
Healthcare or medical office maintenance experience preferred
-
Valid driver's license required. Company vehicle provided for routine travel between sites; personal vehicle may occasionally be needed (e.g., vehicle unavailable, overlapping site visits), with mileage reimbursed per company policy
-
Comfortable working independently at satellite sites with minimal on-site support
-
Ability to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and perform sustained physical repair work daily (this is a working role, not primarily administrative)
-
Frequent travel between sites, primarily via company-provided vehicle; occasional use of personal vehicle may be required, with mileage reimbursement provided
