Duties
- Manage and oversee the complete payroll cycle using advanced payroll systems such as Workday, ADP, Ceridian, UltiPro, Kronos, Paychex, and other supported platforms.
- Ensure compliance with employment laws, labor regulations, and tax requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
- Reconcile payroll data through detailed analysis of spreadsheets, general ledger accounts, and accounting software like QuickBooks or specialized financial software.
- Collaborate with HR teams to administer benefits programs and process employee changes accurately within HRIS systems.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive employee information while handling payroll processing and data entry tasks.
- Prepare detailed reports on payroll expenses, tax filings, and labor law compliance for internal review and external audits.
- Support benefits administration activities including benefits deductions, retirement contributions, and leave management.
- Conduct account reconciliations related to payroll liabilities such as taxes payable, benefits payable, and accrued wages.
- Stay updated on changes in tax law, labor law compliance standards, and payroll regulations to ensure ongoing adherence.
Experience
- Proven experience managing payroll operations within a corporate or non-profit setting using systems like Workday, ADP, Ceridian, UltiPro or Kronos.
- Extensive knowledge of payroll processing procedures including tax law compliance, employment law, and labor regulations across multiple regions.
- Strong proficiency with spreadsheets (Excel), accounting software (QuickBooks), and HRIS platforms for data management and reporting purposes.
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with integrity while managing large volumes of data entry accurately.
- Familiarity with governmental accounting standards such as general ledger accounting, accounts payable/receivable, and non-profit accounting principles is preferred.
- Excellent analysis skills for account reconciliation, journal entries, double-entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, and technical accounting concepts.
- Experience supporting various payroll systems technically while ensuring seamless integration with time & attendance systems and benefits administration tools.
- Strong understanding of tax experience related to payroll taxes including filings and remittances in accordance with current laws.
- Ability to communicate effectively across teams in human resources and finance departments to ensure smooth payroll operations.
