Overview
Reach to Win Youth Home & Family Services (RTW) has been selected by the Children and Youth Behavioral Health Initiative (CYBHI) to be a community partner in providing dialectical behavior therapeutic services to youth and young adults of ages 12 to 22. Through this partnership, professional therapists (,LCSW, LMFT, ACSW, AMFT) will receive paid Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) training and certification to provide the necessary services. DBT services will be provided at various schools in multiple school districts.
Position Summary:
DBT Therapists will be responsible for providing mental health assessments and for treating youths/clients using Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). DBT Therapists will be responsible for ensuring documentation adheres to professional standards and will participate in interdisciplinary teams to provide a healthy, therapeutic, and safe environment for youth/clients.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Collect and gather information on youths, including initial intake, consent to treatment, and other pertinent data. Utilize DSM for diagnosing. Conduct psycho-social assessments and treatment planning. Use DBT services in an individual or group setting. Document youth/client services according to DBT and professional standards. Conduct services in the field (i.e. school campuses), and/or remotely as needed. Handle crises within the context of DBT therapy and collaborate with other providers when indicated. Use outcome measures at regular intervals during treatment. Report data to the Project Director or designee monthly, or as requested. Evaluate the youth’s/clients progress monthly. Coordinate linkage to appropriate intra-agency and community resources, including coordination of client’s psychiatric needs. Interface with the Departments of Health and Human Services, Behavioral Health Services, Probation, court systems, schools, law enforcement, health care providers, and other community liaisons.
Education:
Master’s Degree in either Social Work or Marriage and Family Therapy. Registration with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences as one of the following: Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT) Associate Clinical Social Worker (ACSW)
Experience:
One (1) year of direct service experience treating emotionally disturbed children and young adults. Interested?:
