Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapy Aide to join our team in providing exceptional care to our patients. The ideal candidate will assist physical therapists in delivering treatment plans, ensuring a supportive environment for patients undergoing rehabilitation. This role is crucial in helping patients regain their strength and mobility, contributing to their overall recovery process.
Duties include:
- Supports physical therapy care delivery by preparing treatment area, patient, equipment, and materials, and performs procedures under the supervision of a physical therapist or physical therapy assistant.
- Prepares treatment room for patient by following prescribed procedures and protocols.
- Helps treat patients by applying modalities, helping patients onto exercise equipment, monitoring motion, tracking walking time and distance, measuring mobility, and performing prescribed exercises and strengthening techniques.
- Educates patients by demonstrating proper use of equipment and exercise routines.
- Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Maintains physical therapy supply inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed supplies, placing, and expediting orders for supplies, and verifying receipt of supplies.
- Ensuring cleanliness by sanitizing equipment, changing pillow and table covers, and managing laundry maintenance.
- Assisting in Scheduling and collection of patient payments.
- Assisting with home exercise program, mail, fax, copies, scanning, etc.
Requirements
- Working on or have completed a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Anatomy or Physiology; experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
- Valid CPR Certification.
- Strong communication skills with a focus on patient service.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while being attentive to individual patient needs.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
