A school in Prescott Valley, AZ, is seeking two Special Education Teachers for the remainder of the academic year, starting January 5 and potentially ending May 22. These full-time positions provide an opportunity to work with students requiring individualized support in both resource and self-contained classroom settings. The school is open to considering part-time candidates for on-site roles as well.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction to students with disabilities, including Specific Learning Disabilities (SLD), Other Health Impairments (OHI), and Autism
- Manage caseloads of up to 27 students in a resource setting for grades 4th-8th or up to 7 students in a self-contained classroom for grades 4th-6th
- Develop, write, and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to student needs
- Maintain accurate progress notes and documentation
- Manage classroom behavior to create a positive learning environment
- Collaborate with lead teachers on-site and provide updates via Zoom
Qualifications:
- Certification/licensure in Special Education required
- Experience working with mild to moderate disabilities, including SLD, OHI, and Autism
- Strong skills in IEP development and behavior management
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with school staff
- Willingness to commit to the full duration of the contract, with flexibility for part-time arrangements if needed
