Veterinary Dental Technician
HealthySmiles Pet Dental is transforming pet dental care by providing a natural, less invasive and affordable alternative to traditional pet dentals. Over the past 10 years, we have perfected dental cleanings for dogs and cats without the use of anesthesia. The Dental Technician position is a highly-skilled role that requires an enthusiastic, adept, and versatile ability to gain the fundamental knowledge about anesthesia-free dental cleanings for dogs and cats. You will exercise considerable independent judgment, and will work supporting a senior technician. Great customer service and communication skills will further define your success.
Don’t have a lot of pet dental experience? No problem, we provide on-the-job training. If you are entrepreneurial and have the innate ability to execute, we would love to hear from you.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide pets with quality and properly executed dental cleanings.
Accurately process all client payments.
Properly manage the needs of our partner business clients.
Provide exceptional customer service to pet parents and business clients.
Communicate and educate pet parents on preventative dental care, procedure findings, and appropriate recommendations.
Gently and properly handle pets throughout the dental cleaning.
Perform and complete teeth cleaning and polishing, including subgingival scaling, with the best and latest techniques.
Accurately note dental conditions, decay, and disease on Dental Forms.
Communicate possible diagnosis and treatment to pet parents and/or veterinarians.
Adhere to company policies and follow operational procedures.
Effectively use company technology and software.
Compliance with safety, cleaning and disinfecting procedures.
Ability to travel out of state if necessary.
When necessary, clean up after pets including saliva, urine, feces or vomit.
Perform other related work as required.
Possess a valid driver’s license, and have a clean driving record.
Have a valid vehicle insurance.
Have a flexible schedule that will include weekends.

Working Conditions:
Lift and restrain animals of various sizes and weights.
Walk, sit or stand for extended periods of time, and frequently work in a bent position.
Ability to work from the floor over a sustained period of time.
Potentially work around unpleasant odors and noises.
Be exposed to bites, scratches and animal waste
Potentially be exposed to contagious diseases.
