Responsibilities/Job Description:
In this role, you will serve as a pharmacy advocate for patients on behalf of Fairview Pharmacy Services. Your primary focus will be coordinating prescription fills for patients in high touch disease states across multiple pharmacy departments. Work as part of a high-performing, interdisciplinary team of nurses, pharmacists, and other health care providers in a rewarding, fast-paced work environment in a pharmacy setting. This is a unique position allowing a pharmacy technician to utilize/develop pharmacy and leadership skills.

Educating patients on their insurance prescription benefits

Communicating expectations, timing, and process capably to patients, caregivers, and clinics

Expediting patient prescription fills for specialty medications by identifying and resolving barriers including: identifying insurance concerns and affordability, supporting clinicians with pharmacy technician tasks and roles, supporting patient adherence through refill outreach, coordinating fulfillment of orders with patients and caregivers, and coordinating fulfillment of orders with dispensing pharmacies.

Advising patients on their specialty pharmacy or home infusion network and identifying limited distribution alternatives and referrals to patient financial advocates or infusion intake department as needed

Elevating patient care concerns and questions to clinicians as appropriate

Partner with multiple specialties, clinics, and pharmacy departments

Improve processes to facilitate communication and service between patient, provider and pharmacy teams to ensure accurate and timely delivery of all take-home medications.

Acting as an advocate for ambulatory pharmacy services, including, but not limited to specialty pharmacy, home infusion pharmacy, compounding pharmacy and explaining our services

Partner with clinic pharmacists and liaisons to ensure exceptional care and coordination of medication fills

Develop expertise in (at least) one clinical specialty to act as a subject matter expert for the larger liaison and clinical coordinator teams, clinic, and our partners

Establishing relationships with manufacturers to maintain and gain access to Limited Distribution Medications and understand new product launches

Understand the patient journey, support resources available, and strategies to shape ongoing patient relationships

Managing complex REMS (Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategy) and manufacturer reporting requirements
Required Qualifications

Baccalaureate degree in business or healthcare related field or equivalent combination of education and related experience

4 years of pharmacy technician experience in a complex healthcare environment

Pharmacy Technician MN If Minnesota Board of Pharmacy registration on or after 1/1/2013, must have a certificate of completion from a MNBOP approved employer based or vocational/technical training program

National Technician Certification within 1 Year

$27.88- $39.36 Hourly
