LifeScape is seeking a friendly individual that is passionate about food and providing great services at our Children's facility! This position supports meal preparation, food service, and sanitation within Food Services while ensuring compliance with health department regulations and organizational standards. This role contributes to a safe and welcoming dining experience for the individuals we support and employees
Key Responsibilities may include:
- Serve and deliver food to individuals supported and employees.
- Follow prescribed special diets, including therapeutic and dysphagia-modified diets, ensuring proper texture, portioning, and presentation.
- Follow allergen awareness and cross-contact prevention procedures during food preparation and service.
- Assist the Cook with preparation of hot food items.
- Portion, label, and package hot and cold foods according to safe food handling procedures.
- Provide shift coverage for vacations, sick leave, and vacancies when needed, sometimes on short notice.
- Collect and properly handle soiled dishes from service areas.
- Wash and sanitize dishes, pans, and utensils using the three-compartment sink method and commercial dishwasher according to health code requirements.
- Unload and store clean dishes in designated areas.
- Clean and sanitize work areas after each meal and complete assigned daily and weekly cleaning schedules.
- Record and monitor dishwasher temperature logs to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

High school diploma or GED preferred. Must be at least 18 years of age.
Experience in a commercial kitchen, hospital, school, or nursing home environment preferred.
Experience in a food service customer-facing role (server, cashier, hostess, etc.) is beneficial.
ServSafe or similar food safety certification is a plus.
Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
All positions require a clear background check and drug screen upon conditional offer.
