We are seeking a dependable, hardworking, and service-oriented Funeral Assistant to join our team. This is a hands-on role for someone who takes pride in meaningful work, is comfortable in both indoor and outdoor environments, and is willing to step in wherever needed. No two days are the same, and the ideal candidate is someone who enjoys staying active, working as part of a team, and providing exceptional service to families during one of life's most important moments.
Responsibilities:
- Assist funeral directors with the preparation and execution of funeral, memorial, and graveside services.
- Set up and break down chapels, visitation rooms, tents, chairs, floral arrangements, and service equipment.
- Greet and assist families and guests with professionalism, compassion, and respect.
- Safely assist with the transportation and care of the deceased while ensuring all required documentation is completed accurately.
- Drive, wash, fuel, and maintain funeral vehicles to ensure they are clean, presentable, and service-ready.
- Perform physical tasks including lifting, carrying, moving furniture, unloading supplies, and preparing service locations.
- Maintain the cleanliness, appearance, and organization of the funeral home, vehicles, equipment, and surrounding property.
- Assist with service logistics, scheduling, deliveries, errands, and other operational needs to ensure every service runs smoothly.
- Complete clerical duties such as filing paperwork, preparing forms, answering phones, and assisting with administrative tasks as needed.
- Perform general labor and other duties assigned, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to support the team wherever needed.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
- Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and remain active for extended periods.
- Willingness to transition between physical labor and office responsibilities throughout the day.

Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
