Position Summary
Henry A. Petter Supply Company is seeking a dependable, safety-conscious CDL Driver to transport industrial products and materials to customers, branch locations, and vendors. The ideal candidate possesses a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL), has the ability to safely operate both manual and automatic transmission commercial vehicles, and is committed to delivering outstanding customer service while maintaining compliance with all DOT regulations and company safety standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles equipped with both manual and automatic transmissions.
- Transport and deliver industrial supplies, equipment, and materials accurately and on schedule.
- Load, unload, secure, and inspect cargo to ensure safe transportation.
- Conduct pre-trip, post-trip, and daily vehicle inspections, reporting maintenance needs promptly.
- Maintain accurate driver logs, delivery documentation, inspection reports, and other required records.
- Follow all Department of Transportation (DOT), FMCSA, and company safety regulations.
- Plan and follow efficient delivery routes while communicating delays or issues with dispatch.
- Assist warehouse personnel with loading, unloading, and organizing materials when needed.
- Provide courteous, professional service while interacting with customers.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-maintained vehicle.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
- Current DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate.
- Ability to operate automatic transmission commercial trucks. Experience with manual transmission is strongly preferred but not required. We can get you certified!
- Clean driving record with an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
- Minimum of one year of commercial driving experience preferred.
- Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification preferred.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining attention to detail.
- Basic knowledge of DOT regulations and safe cargo handling procedures.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently lift, carry, push, or pull up to 75 pounds.
- Ability to climb into and out of commercial vehicles multiple times daily.
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and stand for extended periods.
- Work safely in varying weather conditions and warehouse environments.
Work Schedule
- Full-time position.
- Monday through Friday (7am-3:30pm with 30 minutes allocated for lunch), with occasional overtime or weekend work as business needs require.

Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
