MC Smiles is looking to add a Dental Assistant to our team. In this role, you will support dentists by providing chairside assistance, managing patient flow, and ensuring the highest standards of care and patient comfort. Your expertise will help create a welcoming environment where patients feel cared for and confident in their dental experience.
Duties
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly using aseptic techniques.
- Assist dentists during procedures such as X-ray imaging, medical imaging, and dental restorations by providing necessary instruments and materials promptly.
- Take and develop X-rays while adhering to HIPAA regulations and safety protocols to ensure patient confidentiality and radiation safety.
- Manage patient records efficiently using Dentrix, updating medical documentation, medical records, and coding accurately for billing purposes.
- Conduct vital signs assessments and monitor patient comfort throughout treatments to ensure safety and well-being.
- Maintain infection control standards by following strict protocols for sterilization, handling of medical waste, and maintaining a clean clinical environment.
- Operate advanced dental technology such as 3D scanners or other medical imaging devices to aid diagnosis and treatment planning.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of general dentistry procedures.
- Familiarity with Dentrix is a plus
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations, infection control practices, aseptic techniques, and dental terminology.
- Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently during various procedures including prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
- Competence in taking X-rays
- Knowledge of anatomy relevant to dentistry to assist with accurate treatment delivery.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients of all ages, especially pediatrics.
