We are seeking a Lead Preschool Teacher to join our team! This role will begin as part-time with the opportunity to transition into full-time based on performance and center needs. At Discovery Learning Center Academy, we are a preschool, not a traditional daycare. Our teachers are actively engaged in instruction throughout the day, using a structured curriculum to teach children at a high-impact level that prepares them for kindergarten and beyond.
Required Qualifications: Lead Preschool Teacher
- 2 year of proven experience in Early Childhood Education, (ECE) in a licensed child care facility.
- Preschool Teacher, with a strong foundation in classroom management.
- Willingness to learn and implement the ABEKA curriculum.
- Valid CPR, First Aid, and Food Handlers certifications.
- A nurturing spirit that aligns with the values of the Discovery Learning Center Academy community and mission.
- Dependable, organized, and proactive, with a desire to stay with the center for a full academic year.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a classroom of 18 month to 5-year-olds, ensuring a positive, safe, and engaging environment that incorporates Christian principles.
- Deliver age-appropriate lessons using our ABEKA curriculum, while fostering curiosity and a love for learning.
- Model positive behavior, kindness, responsibility, and compassion.
- Collaborate with a team of educators to create a supportive learning atmosphere for both children and staff.
- Build strong relationships with parents and communicate effectively about their child’s development in a faith-centered environment.
- Maintain classroom organization and cleanliness in alignment with Texas Minimum Standards for Child Care.
- Complete 30 hours of annual training required by licensing.
- Perform essential physical job functions including the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, bend, stoop, and remain on your feet for extended periods.
