We are seeking an experienced Superintendent to lead field operations for heavy civil and infrastructure construction projects, including civil, utility, water, and wastewater work. This role is responsible for overseeing day-to-day jobsite activities, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with company standards and project specifications.
The Superintendent serves as the primary field leader, coordinating crews, subcontractors, equipment, and materials while driving productivity, quality, and safety. This position requires strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead daily field operations from project startup through closeout
- Coordinate crews, subcontractors, equipment, and material deliveries to keep projects moving efficiently
- Maintain project schedules and proactively solve field challenges to avoid delays
- Ensure all work is completed safely, on time, within budget, and to quality standards
- Promote and enforce a strong safety culture across the jobsite
- Review and interpret project plans, specifications, and construction documents
- Monitor production, manpower, equipment usage, and overall field performance
- Conduct jobsite meetings, safety talks, and ongoing communication with project teams
- Collaborate closely with Project Managers, engineers, inspectors, clients, and vendors
- Maintain accurate daily reports, field documentation, and project updates using construction software
- Mentor and develop foremen, field engineers, and craft personnel
- Support inspections, project closeout activities, and overall client satisfaction
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
- 5+ years of construction field leadership experience in roles such as Foreman, Field Engineer, or Superintendent
- Experience in heavy civil, utility, water/wastewater, site development, or infrastructure construction preferred
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing, safety practices, subcontractor coordination, and project execution
- Experience managing self-perform work and multiple crews
- Proficiency with construction management software (Procore preferred)
- OSHA 30 certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Bi-lingual candidates preferred
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to walk active jobsites on uneven terrain
- Frequent standing, climbing, bending, and lifting up to 75 lbs. occasionally
