Convergentz, a division of the Hunton Group, has an exciting opportunity for a Fire Life and Safety Inspector to join our growing team in Houston, TX. In this role, you'll conduct inspection services on a wide range of fire protection systems and equipment—including fire alarms, sprinklers, pumps, extinguishers, suppression systems, backflows, and more. You’ll play a key role in ensuring safety and compliance, while also mentoring junior technicians and maintaining high-quality service standards.

Perform annual, quarterly, and 5-year inspections and testing of fire protection systems.
Inspect and service a variety of systems, including:
Fire Alarm Systems
Fire Sprinkler Systems (wet, dry, pre-action)
Fire Pumps and Backflows
Fire Extinguishers
Kitchen Hood and Total Flood Suppression Systems
Support and guide field installers and junior technicians to ensure safe, high-quality work.
Communicate clearly with internal teams and customers regarding system status and deficiencies.
Accurately complete inspection reports with clear documentation and photos.
Manage your time effectively across multiple inspection projects.
Train and mentor less experienced team members to help them grow in their roles.
At least 3 years of hands-on experience inspecting and installing fire protection systems.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting fire system design drawings.
Working knowledge of wet, dry, and pre-action fire sprinkler systems.
Familiarity with antifreeze systems, backflows, and fire pumps is a plus.
Understanding of NFPA codes, especially NFPA 13 and NFPA 20.
Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and fire protection best practices.
Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
