Peri & Sons Farms is seeking applications for a full-time Ammonia Refrigeration Technician in El Centro, California, working with our Maintenance team.
Position Summary:
This position performs preventive maintenance and general repairs on facility, production, and utility equipment to support safe and efficient cooling operations. Assists with seasonal equipment setup and breakdown, responds to repair needs, and helps ensure compliance with safety and food quality standards while minimizing operational downtime. Some of the job functions include:
- Perform preventive maintenance and general repairs on facility and production equipment
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues to minimize downtime
- Assist with setup and breakdown of seasonal cooling equipment
- Complete work orders accurately and on time
- Support food safety, OSHA, and company compliance standards
- Respond to emergency repairs as needed
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum 1 year experience in a maintenance position
- Experience in HVAC or refrigeration is preferred.
- Basic mechanical knowledge
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Bilingual in Spanish & English
- Good attention to detail and consistent accuracy in execution of tasks
- Ability to learn and understand mechanical systems
- Maintains professional conduct
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
This position works in produce processing and cooling facilities. Office work involves routine computer tasks in a climate-controlled environment. Work may include exposure to varying weather, uneven terrain, dust, requirement to work at heights inside/outside of the facility and nearby production equipment. The role requires the ability to stand, walk, sit, use hands, and occasionally lift up to 50lbs. Some flexibility in schedule, including early mornings, evenings, or weekends, may be needed based on operational needs.
Compensation:
