Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics using automotive diagnostic tools to identify issues across various vehicle systems, including electrical, powertrain, transmission, suspension, and ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems).
- Repair and maintain vehicles by replacing or repairing faulty components such as engines, transmissions, suspension systems, electrical wiring, and ADAS modules.
- Interpret automotive wiring diagrams and schematics to accurately troubleshoot complex electrical systems.
- Conduct vehicle suspension system repairs to ensure optimal handling and safety standards.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other maintenance tools to execute repairs efficiently.
- Follow manufacturer specifications and service procedures to ensure quality workmanship on all vehicle makes, including GM vehicles when applicable.
- Maintain detailed service records, complete auto estimating documentation, and communicate clearly with customers regarding repairs needed and performed.
Skills
- Proven dealership or service technician experience with a strong background in automotive diagnostics and repair.
- Deep understanding of vehicle systems such as powertrain, transmissions, electrical systems, suspension components, and diesel engines.
- Proficiency in using automotive diagnostic tools for accurate troubleshooting of complex issues.
- Ability to interpret automotive wiring diagrams and schematics effectively.
- Mechanical knowledge combined with hands-on experience in vehicle maintenance and repair procedures.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and automotive service equipment.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to clients.
- Experience with auto estimating software is a plus; familiarity with GM vehicles is advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail, safety consciousness, and commitment to quality workmanship.
