Essential responsibilities and duties
- The Operator is responsible for the production of parts using Company machinery while maintaining required quality and production standards. The primary responsibilities include:
- Produce parts by loading and positioning component(s) into fixtures using methods/equipment defined in standardized work instructions.
- Perform detailed (final gauge, bend gauge, hand-held gauges, etc.) dimensional inspection when necessary to determine quality of product.
- Follow and apply 8 Quality Basics (i.e. Ok 1st piece, check-do-check, self-inspection, etc.).
- Pack finished goods into designated containers and record information in line with QS9000 labelling and/or packing instructions.
- Notify GAP Leader and/or Supervisor when defects exceed acceptable limits or when major equipment malfunctions occur.
- Record and dispose defective product in designated manner (red bins).
- Maintain TPM for assigned equipment.
- Maintain clean (5S) and safe working environment in line with Company standards.
- Check all safety controls for proper operation at start of shift.

Job knowledge / skills / qualifications:
- Previous machine operation experience in a production-based, automotive setting.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. High school math, language and reading skills required.
- Good communication skills demonstrated by the ability to communicate with employees of all levels.
- Demonstrate the ability to work as part of a team and in a positive manner.
- Demonstrate the ability to perform tasks on any production line and assemble parts effectively at production pace.
- Physical requirements:
- Job involves lifting and carrying up to 40 pounds (full seating assemblies), exerting 25 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and exerting 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Requires pushing, pulling, reaching, standing, walking, gripping, and bending.
- High mental and visual effort required.
- Work involves considerable bending and twisting.
- Able and willing to work overtime when required – up to 12 hours a day / 7 days a week

- 2nd shift - $16.00
- 3rd shift - $16.00
- Overtime - Time & a half
