The NYC Department of Design and Construction seeks a Digital Content Creator that can make an immediate contribution within our Creative Services unit. The selected candidate will join an active studio and collaborate with writers, illustrators, photographers, and designers. The Content Creator will work on projects from concept development to implementation, creating social media content that is engaging and informative. The candidate should excel at creating sharable content, shooting and editing vertical videos, and have experience with motion graphics and a good understanding of typography. They should be comfortable facilitating interesting discussions, with both experts and non-experts, and converting those discussions into content. The selected candidate will thrive in a team environment and be able to work independently to drive projects efficiently to final execution. Photography skills is a plus.
GRAPHIC ARTIST - 91415
(1) A baccalaureate degree, with a major in fine or graphic arts, from an accredited college and one year of full-time paid experience as a commercial or graphic artist; or
(2) A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent plus two years of training in a technical school approved by a state’s Department of Education or comparable governmental agency, in oils, water colors, painting, design, black and white, layout, computer graphics, and other art media, and three years of acceptable full-time paid experience as a commercial or graphic artist.
To be qualified for assignment to Assignment Level II, individuals must have:
(a) at least one year of experience as a Graphic Artist, Assignment Level I; or
(b) the Qualification Requirements described in "1" or "2" above, plus two additional years of acceptable specialized paid experience conceptualizing and initiating graphic art projects.
Preferred candidate will have completed a college or post-graduate degree and must have a minimum of three years of full-time experience as a designer or digital content creator. Candidates should have an interest and understanding of current content trends and tools. Interest in architecture, urban design, and New York City is a plus. Candidates must have a portfolio demonstrating engaging video content. Role requires one who is self-motivated, detail oriented, well-organized, and able to work under deadlines. Candidates must have strong communication, presentation, and production skills. Technical knowledge and expertise using Adobe Creative Cloud is essential (In Design Photoshop Premiere Pro). Knowledge of motion graphic software, such as Adobe After Effects, and basic HTML knowledge are a plus. Candidates must provide a link of your portfolio for review.
