About the Role

This position is about much more than feeding pets and taking dogs for walks. It is about providing comfort, companionship, and loving care to pets while their families are away or busy at work. Our clients trust us with their beloved pets and their homes, so we are looking for team members who are responsible, detail-oriented, trustworthy, and genuinely passionate about animal care.
As a Pet Sitter/Dog Walker, you will visit pets in their own homes and help them feel safe, happy, loved, and comfortable while maintaining their normal routines.
Responsibilities
As a Pet Sitter/Dog Walker, you will:
Provide fresh food and water according to each client’s instructions.
Take dogs on walks and provide exercise, enrichment, and potty breaks.
Spend quality time playing with, comforting, and caring for pets.
Clean litter boxes and help keep pet areas tidy.
Administer medications when needed and according to written instructions.
Follow each pet’s personalized care plan, including feeding schedules, exercise needs, and special routines.
Monitor pets for changes in health, behavior, or mood and report any concerns promptly.
Send thoughtful visit updates so pet parents feel informed, connected, and reassured.
Treat every pet and home with respect, kindness, and professionalism.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who is dependable, compassionate, and truly loves animals. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working independently, following detailed instructions, managing their time well, and treating each pet as if they were their own.
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
Be at least 18 years of age due to insurance and bonding requirements.
Be able to pass a background check.
Have reliable transportation and be able to drive to clients’ homes daily.
Live within 5 miles of our service area.
Be comfortable using a smartphone, as we use an app to communicate with clients and manage visit updates.
Previous experience in pet care is a plus, including experience as a pet sitter, dog walker, veterinary assistant, veterinary technician, dog trainer, rescue volunteer, or a similar role.
The ideal candidate will also have:
A genuine love for animals and a strong interest in their health, happiness, and well-being.
A reliable, trustworthy, and professional attitude.
The ability to work independently and follow detailed care instructions.
Strong attention to detail.
Good time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Strong communication skills to provide clear, thoughtful updates to pet parents.
Comfort working with pets of different sizes, breeds, personalities, and needs.
