Bachelor’s degree in public relations, public administration, marketing, communications, or a related field.
Seven years of related professional experience required; library experience preferred.
Five years of supervisory experience required.
Knowledge of marketing, communications, digital communications, public relations, media relations, branding, website and social media management, and emerging communications technologies.
Knowledge of government relations, legislative processes, advocacy, and public policy.
Knowledge of library programming, community relations, and virtual and online services.
Strong strategic thinking and project management skills.
Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and public speaking skills.
Strong research, analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines.
High level of integrity, diplomacy, discretion, sound judgment, and initiative.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, electronic databases, email, internet-based tools, and other relevant technology.
Willingness to travel, usually within the county, as needed; valid driver’s license required to operate a library vehicle.
