We are a small business company specializing in home repair, remodeling, and renovations. We are seeking a motivated construction laborer willing to be trained, and perform several trades, material handling, aid with on-site tasks, and with projects running efficiently from start to finish. This role is perfect for energetic individuals eager to learn, contribute, and grow within the residential and small commercial construction industry.
As a General Laborer, you have a critical role in getting projects completed safely, effectively, and on time and budget for our customers; while meeting the company's highest standards for quality and compliance. You will assist skilled tradespeople by performing essential tasks that keep projects moving forward proficiently and safely. Duties and responsibilities will increase as more training in various tasks is added. Your enthusiasm and commitment will help gain valuable experience in a skilled hands-on environment.
You will drive to and from our office in your own vehicle and then our company vehicle will go to and from job site and etc. throughout the work day.
Duties
- Assist with site preparation, including clearing debris, loading and unloading materials, and setting up work areas to ensure smooth operations.
- Use tools, supplies, and materials as needed and directed by the Construction Supervisor to install materials.
- Perform construction tasks such as replacing doors and door locks, cabinetry hardware, repairing of drywall, painting, mixing concrete, light framing, and occasionally installing temporary supports, cabinet installation, flooring installation, deck building and repairing, and etc.
- Maintain a clean and organized worksite by disposing of waste and debris properly and ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times.
- Operate simple hand and power tools under supervision and report any equipment issues immediately.
- Follow safety guidelines diligently to prevent accidents and promote a secure work environment.
- Meet project deadlines while demonstrating a proactive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Follow all protocols for proper PPE usage and environmental safety awareness.
Experience
- No prior construction experience required. 1 year prior work experience preferred.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting heavy materials, standing for extended periods, and working in various weather conditions and environments.
- Strong communication skills to follow instructions clearly and work effectively.
- Basic understanding of safety procedures in a construction setting is a plus but not mandatory; training will be provided.
- Basic math skills and how to read and use a tape measure is required.
- Willingness to take direction from the supervisor and develop new skills on-site, and retain the training you are learning.
