CAMPUS AIDE
This position will work from approximately 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Objective and Job Summary:
The Campus Aide supports students, staff, and daily school operations by helping maintain a safe, structured, engaging, and positive learning environment throughout the school day. This role provides student supervision, classroom support, enrichment assistance, and operational support across a variety of school settings including classrooms, playgrounds, lunch areas, athletics, arts programs, and school activities.
The Campus Aide plays an important role in building strong relationships with students, reinforcing school expectations, supporting student engagement, and contributing to a positive school culture rooted in safety, consistency, and care. This position reports directly to the Principal.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Student Supervision & Campus Safety
- Supervise students during recess, lunch, transitions, arrival, dismissal, and other assigned campus activities.
- Maintain a safe, orderly, and structured environment for all students.
- Monitor student behavior and reinforce school expectations and positive conduct.
- Utilize school behavior systems and support restorative and positive student interactions.
- Prevent unsafe activities and respond appropriately to accidents, injuries, or behavior concerns.
- Follow all school safety procedures, emergency protocols, and supervision expectations.
Classroom & Instructional Support
- Provide classroom support to teachers and students during instructional activities and small groups.
- Assist with preparation of instructional materials, classroom organization, and student engagement activities.
- Support students with academic tasks, routines, transitions, and classroom expectations.
- Help maintain positive classroom environments that maximize student learning and participation.
Enrichment, Athletics & Student Activities
- Support and supervise arts, athletics, enrichment courses, and student activity programs as assigned.
- Assist with organizing materials, equipment, and student participation during activities.
- Help facilitate structured games, physical activities, and recreational opportunities for students.
- Encourage positive teamwork, sportsmanship, creativity, and student engagement.
Lunchroom & Playground Support
- Supervise students during meals, recess, and outdoor activities.
- Help maintain clean, organized, and safe lunch and playground spaces.
- Direct play activities and monitor the safe use of playground equipment.
- Assist students with routines related to eating, restroom use, and transitions.
Operational & Professional Responsibilities
- Perform light cleaning, organization, and operational support duties as assigned.
- Complete required paperwork, logs, incident reports, behavior documentation, and attendance records as needed.
- Maintain communication with school staff regarding student needs, behavior concerns, and operational updates.
- Attend trainings, meetings, and professional development opportunities as assigned.
- Maintain professionalism, reliability, and positive interactions with students, staff, and families.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Experience working with children in a school, childcare, recreation, or youth program setting preferred.
- Ability to supervise and engage students in a safe, positive, and structured manner.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to follow directions, maintain professionalism, and respond appropriately in fast-paced environments.
- Ability to support classroom, playground, lunchroom, and enrichment activities throughout the school day.

Physical Abilities:
Frequent sitting, standing, or walking much of the time with some bending, stooping, squatting, twisting, and climbing stairs. Frequently lift, push, pull, and/or move up to 40 pounds.
Work Environment:
This position works in a variety of settings including indoor, outdoor work environments. May experience seasonal heat and cold or adverse weather conditions well as odors, dust, moderate noise level.
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt CLASSIFICATION: Classified
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
