About the Role
Boondocks Food & Fun is looking for a full-time, energetic Assistant Mechanic to support our Lead Mechanic in servicing and maintaining our fleet of state-of-the-art go-karts and bumper boats.
In this role, you will work directly alongside the Lead Mechanic to keep our attractions running at peak performance and ensure a safe, thrilling environment for our guests. Core Responsibilities:
Equipment & Fleet Maintenance
- Assist the Lead Mechanic with daily diagnostics, routine repairs, and performance checks on all go-karts and bumper boats.
- Perform critical opening checks on the track, pond, karts, and boats to guarantee everything is ready for the day.
- Maintain kart and boat performance throughout operating hours to minimize ride downtime.
- Service and maintain specific facility systems, grounds equipment, and tracking tools as assigned by management.
Safety, Rigor & Quality Control
- Ensure the pit, pond, maintenance shop, and track areas remain exceptionally clean, orderly, and safe.
- Maintain the appearance and full functionality of the track and pond areas.
- Read and interpret technical documents in English, including safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Identify operational problems, collect necessary data, establish clear facts, and draw valid mechanical conclusions.
Administration & Team Support
- Keep accurate, organized documentation of all repairs, parts inventory, and special projects.
- Responsibly maintain, organize, and track the shop's supply of tools and machinery.
- Work collaboratively across departments, assisting track team members with operations in limited situations when needed.
Job Requirements
- Age: Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Experience: A proven track record of mechanical repair experience—preferably in the golf-kart, go-kart, motorcycle, or motorsports field.
- Physical Demands: Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods, perform heavy lifting, and work comfortably in dynamic shop and outdoor environments.
- Availability: Reliable transportation is required, and availability to work Saturdays is mandatory.
- Eligibility: Must provide proof of identity and legal authorization to work in the United States.
