Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with their shopping needs in a friendly, professional manner
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately to process retail sales transactions efficiently
- Handle cash, credit card, and mobile payments with precision and attention to detail
- Perform product demos to educate customers about features and benefits of merchandise
- Upsell related products or accessories to maximize sales opportunities
- Maintain well-organized merchandising displays and stock shelves regularly
- Assist with stocking, inventory management, and ensuring the sales floor is clean and inviting
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing questions, resolving issues, and ensuring a positive shopping experience
- Demonstrate strong phone etiquette when handling inquiries or placing orders via phone
- Support team members through supervising experience when needed, guiding new staff or volunteers
- Display exceptional communication skills and professionalism when it comes to communicating with customers and employees as well as management
Qualifications
- Prior retail sales experience preferred, especially in grocery stores or similar environments
- Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling procedures
- Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customers
- Experience with merchandising, stocking, and retail math calculations
- Ability to perform basic math accurately for transactions and inventory counts
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor
- Demonstrated ability to upsell products effectively while maintaining integrity
- Supervising experience is advantageous for leadership opportunities within the team
- Knowledge of phone etiquette and professional communication standards
- Previous experience in grocery store operations or retail sales transactions highly desirable
