Position Summary
The CNC Machinist will operate industrial devices that generate manufactured parts. Essential skills are technical knowledge, setting up, and operating a CNC machine. While maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; and maintaining equipment and supplies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Operate equipment such as CNC machines, milling machines, and end mills to produce manufactured parts primarily out of aluminum and titanium.

Take measurements to adequately ensure the accurate set-up, with the use of tools such as; gauges, calipers, indicators and micrometers.

Maintains specifications by observing drilling and cutting; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting controls; replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.

Set up and trouble shoot 5-axis machines for large complex parts.

Must have recent experience with Fanuc and Siemens controls, Pro3, Pro5 and Pro6 a plus.

Must understand M and G codes for all work centers & controllers in assigned area.

Understands feeds and speeds and can communicate recommended changes to programming.

Troubleshoots issues independently.

Position Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Certification from an accredited organization and 5 years’ experience or
-
Minimum 7 years of progressively responsible milling experience, aerospace industry is a plus.

Possess basic math and geometry knowledge with elementary knowledge of engineering principals helpful.

Be able to read blueprints, follow work order and verbal instructions.

Examine products or work to verify conformance to specifications.

Monitor production machinery/equipment operation to detect problems, conduct routine preventative care.

Provide accurate information to supervisors, and co-workers.
-
Set up and operate a variety of machine tools.
-
Operate precision measuring tools or equipment.
-
Provide training to less experienced operators or as directed by management.

Accurate clocking of jobs.
-
Responsible for quality of work performed.

Support continuous improvements in work areas.
-
Complete work according to the established schedule.

Provide backup coverage for supervisor/manager.
-
Quickly responds to all situations that could cause damage to equipment, product, or workers without authorization. Must be willing to assume responsibility for the area operating in.

Troubleshoot cell controller, machine issues, and report to production lead.

Demonstrate level I – level III proficiencies.

Concurrently, they run multiple machines with minimal supervision.

Ensure all safety checks on cranes, straps, and forklifts are being performed daily.
-
Owner of safety for the area. All operators/visitors to area are following safety policy, wearing proper PPE, etc.
