This isn't just another General Manager position.
If you're looking for another restaurant to run, this probably isn't the role for you.
If you're looking for the opportunity to help build a growing national brand, influence its future, and work directly with company leadership while leading our flagship location, keep reading.
At Nautical Bowls, our Corporate Minnetonka location is more than a restaurant. It serves as the:
- Corporate Flagship Store
- Brand Innovation Center
- Corporate Training Center
As General Manager, you'll be one of the most visible leaders in the company. You'll work directly with our Founder and Vice President of Operations, help shape new products and operational initiatives before they launch nationwide, and train the next generation of Franchise Owners and General Managers entering our system.
As Nautical Bowls continues to grow across the country, this position offers unique visibility and future career opportunities that simply don't exist in a traditional restaurant management role.
Why This Role Is Different:
Help Build the Brand
- You'll have a seat at the table.
- Your ideas won't disappear into corporate bureaucracy. You'll provide direct feedback to leadership, test new products, improve operations, and help shape the future of Nautical Bowls.
Lead the Flagship Store
- Our Minnetonka location sets the standard for every Nautical Bowls location nationwide.
- The way your restaurant operates becomes the example for Franchise Owners across the country.
Train Future Leaders
- This location serves as our Corporate Training Center.
- You'll play a key role in welcoming and training new Franchise Owners, General Managers, and leadership teams, helping establish the culture and operational excellence expected throughout the brand.
Focus on People Instead of Complicated Operations
- Unlike many restaurant concepts, our operations are refreshingly simple. There are: No fryers, no grease, no grills, no heavy cooking equipment, no delivery drivers to manage, no late-night hours
- That means you can spend less time managing operational chaos and more time doing what great leaders love—developing people, creating an incredible guest experience, and building an outstanding culture.
Lead With Independence
- We hire leaders—not people who need constant supervision.
- You'll receive support, coaching, and clear expectations, but you'll also have the autonomy to make decisions, solve problems, and truly own your restaurant.
- If you're motivated by responsibility instead of micromanagement, you'll thrive here.
What You'll Do:
Leadership & Team Development
- Recruit, hire, train, and develop an exceptional team
- Coach and mentor future leaders
- Build a culture rooted in accountability, positivity, and servant leadership
- Conduct performance coaching and ongoing development conversations
- Create an environment where team members enjoy coming to work
Operational Excellence
- Lead all daily restaurant operations
- Maintain exceptional standards for food quality, cleanliness, and hospitality
- Manage scheduling, inventory, labor, and food cost
- Execute company systems while continuously identifying opportunities for improvement
- Ensure every guest receives an outstanding experience
Innovation & Brand Development
- Partner with Corporate Leadership to test new menu items, operational processes, equipment, and technology
- Provide thoughtful feedback that helps shape future brand initiatives
- Assist with special corporate projects as the company continues to grow
Corporate Training
- Train new Franchise Owners and General Managers
- Demonstrate best practices in operations and leadership
- Help create training materials and improve onboarding processes
- Serve as the operational example for the Nautical Bowls system
Financial Performance
- Own the restaurant's financial results
- Manage labor, food cost, inventory, and profitability
- Analyze weekly KPIs and implement action plans
- Drive sustainable sales growth while maintaining exceptional guest satisfaction
Who You Are
- You are someone who wants more than simply running shifts.
- You enjoy coaching people, solving problems, and building teams.
- You take ownership instead of waiting to be told what to do.
- You care about details, but never lose sight of the bigger picture.
- Most importantly, you want to make an impact on an organization—not just manage another restaurant.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of restaurant management experience (General Manager or Assistant General Manager preferred)
- Fast casual or quick-service restaurant experience preferred, ideally with a Franchise organization
- Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop teams, not just ride the coattails of other leaders
- Strong financial and operational acumen - you know your numbers
- Demonstrated success in your roles (awards, top KPI performer)
- Excellent communication and organizational skills - demonstration of this will be part of the interview process
- Passion for hospitality, leadership, and continuous improvement - be prepared to provide examples of how you are doing this in your current role
