We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Bookkeeper to join our dynamic real estate office. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling bank statements, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Your expertise in various accounting software and systems will help support our organization’s financial health and operational efficiency. Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping activities including data entry of journal entries, debits & credits, and account analysis using accounting software such as QuickBooks Online.
- Perform bank reconciliations and general ledger reconciliation to ensure accuracy of financial records.
- Process payroll accurately and efficiently, including payroll processing and related tax filings.
- Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring timely payments and collections.
- Prepare financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Conduct account reconciliation to verify the integrity of financial data across multiple systems.
- Assist with budgeting activities and provide support for governmental or non-profit accounting requirements when needed.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role with a strong understanding of accounting principles such as double entry bookkeeping and financial concepts.
- Extensive experience working with accounting software including QuickBooks Xero, Sage, Quicken, and other financial systems.
- Knowledge of payroll processing, tax experience, and account reconciliation procedures.
- Familiarity with public accounting practices or corporate accounting environments is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to perform bank reconciliation, general ledger accounting, journal entries, and account analysis efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Excellent communication skills
